Around The NL EAST April 3rd

The talkative Phillies lost the first game of the season against Atlanta in extra innings.
It was a pitchers duel early on when John Smoltz met Brett Myers.

Edgar Renteria hit a walk off shot off of Ryan Madson in the 10th inning. (get used to it Philly fans your going to see a lot of games blown by your pen this year.

The Marlins beat The Nationals today in a blow out 9-2.
Dontrell Willis started the game for the Marlins and looked great unlike Nationals Ace John Paterson who got rocked pitching just 3.2 innings and giving up 7 ER.

Hanley Ramirez, was 4 for 6 with an RBI, and Miguel Cabrera, was 3 for 4 with a homerun and 4 RBI's.
