Willie confirms Pelfrey makes the team

Can't say I didn't see it coming Pelfrey pitched great all spring (except for today) and really earned his spot in the bullpen. The most important things for Pelfrey from now to his first regular season start sometime in mid April, is him working on his off-speed pitches during bullpen sessions. Now Willie said he made the team, does that mean Pelfrey will work out of the pen? Or does it mean OK you made the team but until its your time to start go to AAA.
Pelfrey should provide the Mets a very good #5 starter if nothing else, and he was the best possible options. Congratulations Mike you earned it.

thats awesome i just wish that sele whould have gotten his walking papers... and hopefully milledge can come back and take over right field

The Mets needed a LR pitcher, and Jorge Sosa wasn't going to get it done. The Mets plans at the start of the season until they get everyone back is to have Chan Ho in a MR role.
And yes, I hope its just a bruise and Milledge can be the Right Fielder like he deserves.
